​Elementary school morning news shows are teaching students valuable lessons in creative writing, graphic design, public speaking, technical equipment handling, television production, video editing, and professional ethics (Hughes, 1988).
In addition to providing opportunity for personal growth and achievement, a school morning news show also fosters a sense of teamwork and community, from the students that contribute their time and talent in front and behind the camera to the general student body and faculty. As an information source, the news show reaches everyone and often has something for everybody.
