T.I.G.E.R. Club

Teasley's Initiative to Guide Early Readers

How it Works:

Each month students will receive a new TIGER Card.  After reading a book, students must complete 3 of the prompts from their grade-level TIGER Reading form (see PDF version of forms below). The prompts are designed to verify that the student has read the books listed and to give students practice in areas that reinforce grade-level standards.  Three prompts must be answered per sheet to receive full credit.  Only use one book per sheet.  Handwriting should be neat and the answers should be in complete sentences.

Forms (signed by parent) should be turned into the grade appropriate TIGER READING box in the media center.  After forms are evaluated for accuracy and completeness points will be awarded to students based upon the number of pages in the book.

Awards

To earn a certificate and prize at the end of each month students must earn a MINIMUM of 2 points per month.  If a student participates from September to April they will be invited to a year-end celebration and receive a medal and a certificate during their grade level award ceremony.  Top grade level awards will be given to the top three students with the highest number of points.

There is no cap on how many points a student can earn a month.
